Home to approximately 200 residents, Mudh is deeply rooted in Tibetan Buddhist culture. The villagers are largely self-sufficient, thriving in the midst of a dry and rugged mountain landscape. They cultivate pea plantations, a vital crop for the community.
With almost no rainfall, water is a precious resource, sourced from nearby mountain glaciers and rivers. Ingenious pipelines are used to channel this glacial water to the fields, creating bursts of life in the otherwise barren terrain. The pea fields come alive with vibrant purple flowers, adding a striking contrast to the arid surroundings.
The village also has a small school, currently attended by two children.
