I’m Johanna, originally from Germany, and I’ve built a second home in a remote Himalayan village in India at 2,300 meters.
I’m deeply curious about life in the high Himalayas and how people survive harsh conditions using traditional ways of living. I find endless inspiration in their resilience—both physical and mental.
Through my photography, I document this strength alongside vibrant traditions, with a special focus on Himalayan women, whose beauty and power truly radiate. My work celebrates simple living in harmony with nature.
I believe we have much to learn from village life—lessons that nurture inner peace and a deeper respect for Mother Earth. A perspective that we so urgently need in the modern world.
