Nestled at 2,300 meters in the wild Indian Himalayas lies a hidden Valley called Urgam. Its inhabitants, the Pahadi people, live much like their ancestors have for centuries- independent and self-sufficient. They build their homes with their bare hands from earth and stone and cultivate beans, grains, and vegetables using traditional farming methods. Survival requires constant labour, constant adaptation to the rhythms of Mother Nature. The Winter months are especially harsh, bringing a whole new set of challenges. Yet, the Women of the Himalayas continue to stand at the heart of daily life, demonstrating incredible physical and mental strengths.
